Mannava Srikanth Prasad - A Cricketing Icon

 

Meet Mr. Mannava Srikanth Prasad, affectionately known as MSK Prasad, a former Indian cricketer and a revered figure in our Indian cricketing community.

 

Cricketing Career:
Mannava Srikanth Prasad's cricketing journey is nothing short of remarkable. He proudly represented the Indian cricket team in 17 One Day Internationals and 6 Test matches between 1997 and 2000. Additionally, he played a pivotal role in India A tours to several countries, including Bangladesh, Pakistan, Netherlands, and Sri Lanka, from 1996 to 2003. His unwavering dedication and exceptional skills were on full display during his 97 first-class matches from 1994 to 2007.

 

Contribution to Cricket and Community:
Post his retirement from professional cricket, Mr. Prasad took on the role of Director of Cricket Operations for the Andhra Cricket Association from 2009 to 2014. His tenure was marked by a significant transformation in the standards of cricket within the state. Notable contributions included the development of 18 first-class grounds, the establishment of 2 international stadiums, and the creation of 4 residential academies, including one for girls - a pioneering initiative in the country. Furthermore, he set up 48 rural cricket centers across Andhra Pradesh.

 

Leadership and Recognition:
Mr. Prasad's immense contributions led to his appointment as a member of the Indian Selection Committee by BCCI in 2015. Subsequently, he served as the Chairman of the committee from 2016 to 2020. During his leadership, the committee scouted and nurtured talent across the country, resulting in the selection of the 2019 World Cup Team. Indian cricket achieved top ranking in international cricket across all formats during his tenure, a testament to his unwavering dedication.

 

Coaching Qualifications:
In addition to his illustrious cricketing career and administrative achievements, Mannava Srikanth Prasad holds coaching qualifications. He successfully completed Level-1 and Level-2 coaches' courses conducted by the National Cricket Academy, a coaching wing of BCCI. He is currently actively pursuing the Level-3 coaching course to further enhance his coaching abilities.

 

MSK Prasad's International Cricket Academy:
To extend his services to the game of cricket, Mr. Prasad has established his own group of cricket academies under the banner of "MSK Prasad’s International Cricket." The headquarters and Center of Excellence are based at Vignan World One School in Kondapur, Hyderabad, with branches in Hyderabad, Guntur, Visakhapatnam, and even an academy in Seattle, USA.

 

Global Connections:
MSK Prasad's International Cricket Academy has also formed alliances with clubs in Zimbabwe, Kenya, the UK, and New Zealand.

 

National and International Tournaments:
Beyond academies, Mr. Prasad actively organizes various national and international tournaments for children in Hyderabad, further promoting and nurturing cricketing talent.
