Major Milestones in Career

As a Player
  • Maximum wickets by a left arm spinner for Tamil Nadu till date. 285 wickets (avg: 22.52) in 74 First Class matches​

  • Only bowler thus far to record maximum wickets in a Ranji Trophy match (14 wickets) and a hat-trick in the same season (1992-93) for Tamil Nadu

  • Also, represented Assam in the Ranji Trophy as a professional and assisted the team to reach Ranji Trophy Knock out stage after a gap of 5 years

  • Six Wickets on debut (3 for 83 & 3 for 82) in FC cricket against New Zealand in their tour match against Ranji Champions, Tamil Nadu in 1988. Awarded the best bowler of the match

  • Beat Sir Garfield Sobers’ record of 97 wickets in a season in the North Staffordshire South Cheshire League, England, by capturing 101 wickets as an overseas professional for Stone Cricket Club, Staffordshire, in the summer of 1996

As a Coach
  • Qualified as NCA (BCCI) coach in 2006

  • Head coach (Spin wing) at TNCA academy till 2017

  • Tasked with correcting illegal bowling actions using advanced motion analysis software

  • Head Coach of the Tamil Nadu Under-19 team during 2012-13 season

  • Coach of the Winning South Zone cricket team in the 2013-14 edition of the Duleep Trophy Tournament

  • Personal coach of Indian Off Spinner R. Ashwin from 2007 to 2014

As an Administrator
  • Administrative Manager of the Senior Indian Men’s team from BCCI from 3rd August 2017 to 3rd September 2019

    • All home series

    • Overseas tours to Sri Lanka, South Africa, England, West Indies, 2018 Asia Cup in UAE, Australia & NZ and 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup in England & Wales.

    • Well versed with the ethos, work culture, pressure and demands of handling a present day senior International Cricket team.
